finally i know how great the " doc dance is" . i came home from work and there they were. wow, what a great feeling seeing it in print that i have " boarding pass to get on the ship. now it really is reall. dusty

So when do people get their documents on average? My TA emailed me yesterday saying she was sending in 4 weeks. That puts it around Sept 17th and I have to leave the 19th. I said that seemed to be cutting it awfully close, mail being what it is. And I have to fill out some stuff ahead of time? What about some of you others?

since this is my first cruise i will not be a good one to answer your ?, but from what i have read on these boards if you do not get them about a week before you leave you should call your ta and find out where they are. since i am a tba i was assured that my docs would be at the ship if i did not have anything in hand. it was great to get them though. mine came a little over 3 wks before my upcoming cruise. i would not worry. im sure you will have them on time and will have time to fill everything out.

Docs can come anywhere from a month prior to the cruise to just a few days before it. On my first cruise, the documents came on Friday, and we left on Tuesday..

I think I'd be on the phone to the TA -- two days seems a bit too short. Are you leaving early (for a land tour) before you actually get on the ship? She may not be figuring that in to her calculations.

As for paperwork -- there was just one small form to be filled out; took all of about 3 minutes. I'm assuming you've done the forms now required that either prove you're a citizen, or give them the information you need to share if you're not a citizen? The princess line sent those to me about 6 weeks ago, and stated that they wouldn't send the final documents until those were filled out and returned (I did them on line).

Anyway...I'd be on the phone to the agent and see if she couldn't get them to you sooner. They don't have a lot of control over that -- it is pretty much up to the cruise line to send them to the agent..but she may have had some confusion there on the dates.

This has been strictly email since the TA is in the LA area. I told her when I was leaving, one day early to sightsee in Seattle (my port), so they had to be with me before then. I read on another message board that some people had nothing at checkin and got onboard ok, checkin just took alittle longer. But I get anxious just the same without the tix.

Yes, I'd be anxious without the tickets, too! I also have heard about people showing up at the dock and all being in order...but I'd be a nervous wreck!

I called my cruise line just to verify -- even with the documents in hand. Maybe you could call your line and see if your paperwork is in order? (I'm assuming you have your booking number, at least!)

I think I have my booking number in my paperwork somewhere. I called NCL just to ask a question abit ago and she (the rep) found me with my name alone. That was encouraging anyway. But I got my docs for my cruise on RCCL 2 years ago and it was fun just reading through them, built the excitement up. I will mis that this time if they are late or don't show up at all.
