This will be our 6th cruise, but our first with the kids (13, 10, 7). Camp Carnival seems like just the thing for the kids. We got a great rate on this 5 day cruise, but I am wondering about some things...

1) How many formal nights?
2) Can the boys wear dockers and a polo shirt on formal nights?
3) Does my little girl have to wear a dress on formal nights? (she hates them!)
4) I chose late seating, should I change to early?

Any suggestions from those of you who have traveled with your kids would be appreciated. I know you are out there!! My kids know nothing about this trip, we are surprising them! They are sure to "freak out" when we pull up to the ship.

I was on the Imagination in February. Nice ship! I did a review on it if you want to look it up. Now for your questions:

1). We had only one formal night. It was our second night. We were on the Belize-Key West itinerary, it may be different for the other one.

2). Polo shirts and dockers are ok but, IMHO, a suit is nicer. A good compromise is a tailored shirt and the dress slacks from the suit (made this compromise with my teenage son for one of the formal nights on the Pride).

3). You didn't say how old your daughter is. If she is the 7-year-old you might be able to find those really nice one-piece jumpsuits. If she is older then I suggest looking around for a nice pantsuit. I saw some really nice ones at Kohl's for young teens the other day. Since all the stores have Easter clothes for sale, now is a great time to find a compromise outfit for her!

4). We had late sitting. Ended up at the 8:30pm time. Usually finished dinner about 9:45-10:00. I HATED it but I am used to eating about 7. It depends on when your family is used to eating dinner.

Hope this helps!
