has anyone been on this particular ship "Independence Of The Seas". Im thinking of going on my first cruise with this ship, so im looking to get some user impute on it. I have read a couple of post where the passengers where not too happy with it 1.kids running and screaming up and down the hallways at night. 2.food was edible but not the best. now this was the only thing i could bring up on it so im not sold on the idea of this is not the cruise that i want i just would like to hear if anybodyelse had some impute.:) ow yeah one more thing i see that they use salt water for the pools do they have wash/shower stations close to the pools?

You will get kids running in the halls on any ship and any cruise line. The shorter cruises, 7 days, will generally have more kids. As well as during school vacations. RCI is also more family friendly than HAL, Celebrity, Princess.

Food is subjective. I have yet to starve on a ship. With the price of food today and feeding over 4000 people, you wont get the quality of a 5 star restaurant. IMO the food is edible.

Yes, they have shower stations near the pools. Princess has fresh water pools and I think HAL does too.

Freedom of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas are RCCL's newest ships, I loved the Freedom. Huge and amazing.

Jetblue, I think she debuts in 2008 and I am sure curbstops questions are based on reviews on other ships.

curbstop, so was I :)

As much as I love kids I am lucky enough to be able to book my cruises during the school year. I would sail one of the megas during that time. Most parents dont want to take their kids out of school.

oh, btw, my friends call me suer.

If you're complaining about kids, I would think you would do better to cruise when kids are "technically" in school. January is a good month, I've found. As far as food goes, some cruiselines have better food than others, but I've never had a bad meal in any of the dining rooms I've been in. When you go to the buffet, well, it's a buffet, right?

side note for suer... formal night, formal shoes. With the closetfull that my wife has, I think she would wear formal shoes on the pool deck. She wouldn't have it any other way. LOL

We were just on the Liberty, the newest sister to the up & coming Independence of the Seas, and yes, kids wandering the halls past 2am was a problem.

There were so many of them and it happened so often, that I didn't get a lot of sleep. We were on the jr. suite/suite deck which is usually quieter than the lower decks, but it was during summer break.

RCI is not good about enforcing a curfew, so I would just book during the school year and get a cabin that is at the end of a hallway so you have less people passing your cabin late at night (or I guess it would be morning! :lol ).

Hi Luv Dance

i not u have been on royal carribean numerous times and u will hopefully be able to tell me what facilites there are for 17 year olds of these ships. we have only used the princess cruise line so far. Are there meeting places for solitary teenagers aboard? the princess has meeting areas and specialclub areas.
