On the Conquest (as well as other ships) Carnival sells gold and silver by the inch. An inch (depending on the thickness of the links) cost $1 to $4. The $4/inch chains have very large heavy links. I did not buy any but after returning and doing a little research, this turns out to be a pretty good deal. A 24 inch gold chain on sale locally with same link size and weight would cost 5 to 6 times what it cost on the Conquest. I now wish I would have bought some. Also, gem stones (topaz etc..) were only $10.00 per carat. This also seems to have been a prettty good deal. If anyone knows if I'm missing something, let me know. If the jewelry is that cheap, I could almost pay for my cruise with the savings.
