November 20th? We will be on that cruise with another couple we met last year on the Summit :)
We should have taken the same cruise last December but my niece decided to have her first ( and only :grin ) baby in December so we cancelled and rebooked for this year. :)
Hope to see you there!

My husband and I are going on this cruise. We will be staying in San Diego for a couple of days before the cruise. I would appreciate any suggestions on where to stay. We would like to see "Old Town" and
spend a day at the harbor. I have found mostly expensive hotels and want to pay around $75.00 a night.
We are mostly interested in a hotel that has a shuttle and a breakfast included. Am I being unrealistic?
Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks! We are excited about the ship and Hawaii.

We usually stay at the La Hacienda hotel in Old Town which is a Best Western but this time we are going to stay directly across from the pier at the Holiday Inn on the Bay, 1355 N. Harbor Dr.
Our friends have stayed there before as I think many from this board have. We have seen the hotel just never stayed there.
My friend wrote in her email to me that, " the bellman just takes the luggage across the street on a trolley. It's about 10 min. or less from the airport and the Holiday Inn has a shuttle - and they'll drive you wherever you want to go within a few miles of the hotel. "
Sorry can't help with the price at present as my husband booked it :)

Hi All,
We are on this cruise too. We are looking forward to Hawaii, we've never been. This will be our 8th cruise and it will be for my 40th birthday. I look forward to getting to know people on the boards before we go as well as meeting you all in person on board. As for hotels precruise we have not picked one yet either so if you have more suggestions please post them. I will look into the Best Western and the Holiday Inn. Maybe we will even check out Priceline too. Any ideas for shore tours?

Have a wonderful Friday

Hi there - looks like we'll have plenty of "pre-known" people on board. No ideas on shore tours (yet), research to follow. I am also looking into the "Grant" hotel in SD.

Daryl we booked the Holiday Inn last night for Friday the 19th but hubby phoned them.
When we looked online at the Holiday Inn for a room it said nothing available same with the La Hacienda. We phoned La Hacienda and we booked a room for the night we disembark :)

Hi All,
I figured I would bump this up to the first page.
Has everyone had a nice summer? We have been so busy and so looking forward to our cruise. We are finally starting to look for a hotel for precruise and after we think we will go up to Hollywood/Burbank for a couple days. I think we are going to try and stay at Holiday Inn on the Bay precruise. Has anyone stayed or toured Hollywood/Burbank? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Have an excellent weekend.

Cool!! Another Celebrity Cruise forum! My husband and I are also scheduled to take this marvelous cruise ship to Hawaii! I see there are some posters on this forum that are also on Cruise Critic forum, so we will probably all end up at the Cruise Critic get together (whenever that is).
We are from Edmond, Oklahoma. I work fulltime (federal gov.) and hubby is retired. We "play" in ceramics and relax taking care of our 5 acres. This weekend we are selling some of our creations at a craft show in Norman (GO OU!!). We will do that one more time before the fast arriving cruise departure! We arrive in San Diego late Saturday night so we will not be able to do the dinner thing that some of you folks are putting together, but we surely look forward to meeting 'names' on the ship!

gasalamon,
No, unfortunately not. We would love to, but our flight is scheduled to land into San Diego Saturday evening around 10 pm. I am thinking a quick trip to the hotel and a good nights sleep is what we will be looking for! :) I don't remember the name of the hotel, but we booked it many months ago.
I can hardly wait until the flight date arrives! As all of us, I am more than ready for a vacation!
