This is our first cruise and I would like any info on rooms. We are on the Dawn Princess Baja deck room b632 balcony . What are the balcony like privite or open ? It is across from the evevators is this a good thing or bad (noise?). The room looks to be about 1/4 of the way from the back of the ship. What's the ship movement like there. If I got upgraded what would be a good upgrade? Closer to the middle or Aloha deck?
We leave on December 3 on a 10 western Caribbean cruise for our 10 th anniversary
Thanks for any info you can provide.

We were on the Dawn last October and had a room near the elevators and what you have to get used to, in other words--learn to ignore, is the bell ringing. Fortunately not many people use the elevators during the night but if you'd like to rest in the afternoon then you're going to hear ding, ding, ding. It's not real, real irritating. It's just that when your ear becomes attune to the ringing then it takes a while to get it off your mind.

Others will have to answer your other questions.

We were on the Dawn Panama Canal transit in April - A343 on Aloha deck. We weren't too far from the elevators but never heard them. We took Meclizine with us and never used it - the seas were about 1.5 - 3 feet during the day. I think there was only one evening when we even felt any movement and that was all the way aft sitting in the Vista Lounge. It sounds like you are in a nice location - pretty centrally located. We liked being forward - quick trip up the stairs to the Horizon Court, the pools, and the grill and there's also a great viewing area on the bow of the ship. The balcony is private but small - 2 chairs and a table out there. There are partial dividers between the balconies -small space at top and bottom. We are planning an Alaska cruise for 2005 and will book port side Aloha deck close to same location for that cruise. The Dawn is in great condition and you will have a wonderful time! Happy anniversary!
