Have not been on the Dream, going to be on her in September, but have been on the Star, the khakis are fine but the wranglers are a no no if they are truly jeans, not allowed at night but lunch breakfast okay, any type shirt is okay as long as it has a collar, for example polo, the hawaiian type my husband likes to wear, does not have to be a dressy shirt,me and hubby love dressing up,on your formal night you can go to another dining venue but if you go to the dining room that is for formal night thats fine too, maybe half the people dress for that night, the other in khakis and sport top. You can wear pants as well as long as they are not jeans,no shorts though at evening dinner. We went on whale watching tour in Juneau and tour bus took us their and brought us back, you dock right downtown, then you can explore on your own if you have time,do not miss the ship,it will not wait for you! The mendalhall glacier we went by bus for 5 dollars to and back, sounds like yours is a planned event,so I do not know where they pick up or drop off for you,we tend to not do ship tours as much more expensive but it gets you off ship earlier and to tenders if you have to tender into some port on your trip due to too may ships being in that port that day, usually you have to tender at least one port stop,so listen for when you can get your tender ticket the earliest on the PA system so you can be one of the first off. Hope you are doing the train ride in Skagway and get to see Creek St. in Ketichan. Hope this helps and you have a wonderful time, write a review so I know how you liked the Dream, most people love her dining rooms with all the windows. We have a balcony room on 8th deck,I am sure you will have a great stateroom as well. Warmly,Korina
