Inside Passage--what can you see from starboard side?

We're booked on the Island for the inside passage from Seward to Vancouver and have a balcony on the starboard (could be spelling that wrong) side. Does anyone know if we'll really need to spend most of our time on an open deck on the port side to appreciate the glaciers and beauty? Are there any areas we'll be cruising where we're fine to stay on our balcony? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The ships generally go in and turn around for all to view. Had a balcony, but ended up topside to get the best panaramic views.

When you're sailing the inside passage, there will be land on either side of the ship, for you to view. And when you're in areas like Glacier Bay, the ship is turned around so everyone has an 'equal opportunity view'.

But like jhagen said -- the best view is out on deck, where we spent most of our time. Or in the glass enclosed areas of the ship.

You'll have a wonderful time, though. Alaska is awesome almost everywhere! :)

40 days til the Island Princess, Seward to Vancouver..

Hi we just got back from the Dawn. We had a starboard side but we were cruising north route. Some times we had a fabulous view and stayed right on our deck and other times we wanted to be on the deck and see the whole panaramic view. It was breathtaking. IT is warmer on your balcony since the wind is blocked. But the ship will turn in both glacier bay and college Fjord. But we saw glaciers calving in deck in college fjord. Have a blast.
