Inside room or window room

My wife and I are about to book a 7 day Alaskan cruise on Princess for June and we are trying to decide between an inside or outside room. The outside rooms are so much more expensive. We are in our 40s. If we can't afford an outside room is it worth wating until we can afford it? Would we miss much scenic benefit with an inside room? Thanks for any help.

Any cabin on a cruise is better than not taking the cruise at all. By all means book what you can afford. There is always enough window space and deck space in the public areas to view the scenery. We had a balcony on our last Alaska cruise, but still went up on deck when we were in Glacier Bay. Don't wait, do it now.

Book what you can afford. There are plenty of places on the ship to go and enjoy the scenery of Alaska. An outside room would be nice if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room but why waste your time sitting in the room?

I would not wait if I had the chance to cruise Alaska and all I could afford was an inside room. In fact I have sailed with an inside room in Alaska several times.

Hi Tom,

We have made the Alaskan cruise in both an inside and outside cabins, and can't say that we enjoyed one trip more than the other. On this cruise you spend a goodly portion of your cruise on port calls and cruising Glacier Bay, and while you are under way there are some great vantage points to view the passing scenery. You will really not miss a great deal by taking an inside cabin. If you do decide to go I am sure you will enjoy the experiences.

In fact, if you are sleep challenged you might need the dark of the inside to sleep :grin

Take what you can afford, don't wait to see some of Alaska! :grin
As Peb says, plenty of spaces on the ship you can use for sight seeing in comfort :)
