Inspiration

I've booked the Inspiration for February 9th for one week. I have read so many conflicting comments on this ship and cruise line. I'm beginning to get a little nervous as to whether I made the right choice. Got a fabulous price from Carnival so I guess I can't complain. I have only been on one cruise before -- Royal Caribbean - Sovereign of the Seas about 10 years ago. Can anyone out there (hopefully) put my mind at ease that I made the right choice. Any info you can provide on the ship would be appreciated. I've booked an inside cabin but am wondering if I should have gone with an outside. Any comments.

Kind of in the same situation you are in Carole. I have never been on the Inspiration or Carnival either for that matter . I am looking at a summer 2003 sailing on her with the family because of low fares. Most all of the posts I have seen on her have been positive. People are pleased with the condition of the ship and friendliness of the staff. My attitude is there is no such thing as a bad cruise, Some are just better than others! Good Luck! :AL :USA

Carole, I have sailed the SOS twice and the Inspiration once, considering her again in the Spring. Both ships are wonderful and I wouldn't give the overall edge to either. Having said that, The Inspiration has some definite pluses; cabin size being dominent. Instead of a 117 sq ft box, you will enjoy 185 sq ft of space, and it does make a difference. Public areas are numerous, but not as large as those on the SOS. I believe the food and entertainment to be at least as good on the Inspiration as on the SOS. I guess the bottom line is that if you enjoyed the Sovereign, you will definitely enjoy the Inspiration.
