I had a previously healthy grandparent suddenly get very ill just prior to a 1998 carnival cruise. My partner and I had purchased the insurance and subsequently were rebooked on another later cruise with minimal hassle. Last vacation, which I did not purchase insurance, was cancelled by a little blizzard that hit colorado. That one cost me a lot of money and taught me a very important lesson = get the insurance!just my opinion...
