I bought Travel Guard insurance ($48.00 per person $100 with Carnival) The fee is based on the cost of your trip. It's cheaper and seems to be the same insurance as Carnival offers. I can give you the toll free number if you wish?

In 20 cruises, I have never bought it, and never would have needed it if I had .

I'd suggest you buy the insurance from an independent company. If you're dealing with a TA check with them or go to <insuremytrip.com> to get comparisons from many companies.

I think it depends on how much you pay for the cruise, how your health is and how much you'd lose if you couldn't go.

You should keep in mind that it also covers things like lost luggage, passports, delays, weather problems etc...
