We will be on the Dawn Princess starting Sunday 1/25. Can anyone tell me what sort of internet access is available from the ship. We have two daughters (10 and 8) that we are leaving home with Grandma and Grandpa and we would like to be able to email them or maybe even instant message.

Thanks

Dawn Princess is set up like the Sun Princess, there is a Business Center located on Deck 12 next to the Beauty Salon, across the hall from the Spa. The entrance is sort of hidden, but stand facing the Beauty Salon and it is on the right.

There are (if working) 5 computers. On the Sun Princess last week, they were down sporadically (like on the Island Princess). You can check Internet Based email. Not sure if it was enabled to use IM or not.

Cost on the Sun Princess was .50 per minute.

They also might have laptop internet accessibility with a wireless connection in the atrium area. They had 2 laptops available on the Dawn P in January 24 hours a day but as CA mentioned sometimes their connection is down.

Depending on your itinerary, check to see if there are Internet Kiosks in port. In Cozumel, for instance, There is a great little internet kiosk right on the dock. The cost was $2.50 AN HOUR!!!. Thats only 5 minutes onboard. Look for places offering long distance services and such and most will also offer a computer or 2 for internet. We even used our AOL instant messenger at one kiosk and tlaked to our kids back home at a set time.
