Yes, you can connect to internet in your cabin on the SR for a fixed rate, depending on cruise length. Unfortunately it´s neither very fast, nor 100% reliable.
Well Pete, I can´t actually say what would be most "cost effective". I usually bring my laptop in a cyber cabin on longer cruises to do emails, including onboard pics, and have been satisfied on most cruises.
You can get a package of 151 minutes for WIFI or ships computers for $50. So, I guess it depends on how many Emails you will be sending. The last time I checked, cyber cabin was $100 for a week long cruise [unlimited use].
For me, my free minutes with Crown and Anchor Diamond are usually all I need. I just use my coupon and my hubbys, and that enough. I don't spend that much time on the computer while on a ship.....
Thank you all , for the responses. At least I have an idea of what to expect. I do not intend to spend too much time on the computer, but I think it will be nice to stay in contact with family in a 12 days cruise.
Okay, thanks again.
