My husband rented a car with some friends there and stopped at the McDonalds.  They were robbed(cameras, cash, even clothes), but not hurt.  Apparently, the McDonalds (I don't remember what city) is a common place for this to occur because a high number of American tourists stop there.  It was very crowded and everyone turned a blind eye.  The police said it happens there a couple of times a day.
