I love the Galaxy. I was on her last April and am booked on her next April too!! Does anyone know if Celebrity has any plans in the near future for her to go into dry dock?

Thanks,

I have not heard anything on a date. I sailed her March 2005 and found myself apologizing to friends for her need of a face-lift. The worst was the windows in the lounge, so many of the seals had broken and you couldn't see through them. Many of the chairs had stains on them and the pool area had many tiles missing and the carpet around it very worn. Our cabin had permanent stains on the sink, very, very faded bedlinens. The sofa had some large stains too. I did like the ship, crew and food very much, but appearance does affect a cruise too, especially when you are paying more to sail on Celebrity. Having said all this, I am sailing on Mercury 4/28/06 and I would think she will be needing some face-lifting in the future as well.

I agree with you. When you pay a premium price for a product you should recieve a premium product. In the case of Celebrity they let all of thier ships go WAY TO LONG WITHOUT REFURB.We have quit sailing with Celebrity because of the condition that they let thier ships get into. The service and food quality is great . But the run down conditions really turn me off.I know some people don't mind, but I can go on other lines for about half the price and in most cases the ships are much better kept. I will avoid Celebrity until they get thier act together. Viet

I just returned from GALAXY a couple of weeks ago. While on board, I was invited to a party hosted by the cruise director. He had a ship Q & A toward the end of the party, and this very question came up. He stated that she is scheduled to go into drydock at the end of this year. That's as specific as he got. If, however, you look at GALAXY's schedule, there are no breaks in her service, so I wonder how they are going to pull this off.
Cancel a week in November or December? Makes me wonder.
