Has there been two outbreaks of the norovirus already? I have never heard of a ship having multible outbreaks so close together. I will be sailing next month. Thanks

It's just a coincidence, the reason why it happens is because guests bring the virus onboard the ship with them and they aren't careful about washing their hands, therefore, they spread it to other guests and crew members. Most people don't realize that the Norovirus can happen anywhere, even in schools or at the office, its just that the media likes to play up cruise ship disasters for some reason.... kind of like how they played up a certain airline's disaster...

I've only heard of the one and there were a lot of sick people.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the SHIP. Passengers bring it onboard and it spreads like wildfire.

Someone who is on the ship right now says the only remnant left over from the week prior of the Norovirus is that Johnny Rockets is still closed. I'm sure it'll open on Saturday for the next cruise though. :)

BTW - about 37 ships had Norovirus last year alone.

Heard from someone off the ship today, 6/9. They stated that by the end of their 6/2 cruise, things were back to normal. :)

It is true. I was on the June 2nd sailing which returned on June 9th. I don't have an exact count of the sick passengers but there were many. My daughter was one of the sick passengers. Royal Caribbean has done nothing to compensate for this (2nd outbreak). I don't believe they want people to know, but it continues to happen.

If you can cancel or reschedule for another time.

The only reason that anyone even heard of it was because 3.3% of the passengers and crew were reported sick. The CDC requires that the cruise lines report anything over 3%. If one less person had been reported sick it would have lowerd the percentage below 3%. No report to the CDC, no report on CNN.
