Hi All,

I'm considering the 02 April '05 Panama Canal cruise ex. FLL on the Galaxy. Can anyone tell me if it's a smooth cruise or we can expect a bit of sway ?? Also, i'm getting mixed reports on the condition of the old girl - Is she still in good shape or starting to fray a little at the edges ??

Our first and only cruise was on RCCL Voyager in May 2003 so any comparisions to this ship or similar would be fantastic...

Any and all feedback appreciated.

Thanks a million & Happy Cruising !!!

I was on the Galaxy last year - Baltimore to the Caribbean. It was very smooth and she is a beautiful ship. I didn't notice as much wear and tear on the Galaxy as I did on the Zuiderdam this year and the Zuiderdam is only 2 years old. I loved the Galaxy so much that I'm hoping to cruise on her again next year. I've never been on the Voyager so I don't know how they compare. Hope this helps.

Thanks Janine... I'm sure you'll agree that the perception of "aging" is definately in the eye of the beholder, it can be very difficult to tell from reading posts...

I guess best way to find out is to try for yourself, and you won't hear me complaining about that task.

Over the past two years I have sailed on the Galaxy out of Baltimore three times, had a great cruise each time. While the ship has a few miles on it, the ship is in good shape, and was well maintained.

Oh yes sorry, I meant Galveston, my last cruise was out of FLL....

I'm also trying to get co-ordinating flights booked at the moment, from Melboune Australia it's not easy as i'm trying to use Qantas miles...

As soon as the flights are confirmed, the cruise will be booked.. I can't wait !!!!!

BTW, any-one get a better cruise deal on the 02 April Galaxy cruise to Panama Canal than the $1050 odd for an inside cabin that seems to be the norm with the on-line sellers right now ???
