Is the pool water too cold to swim in January?

Hi everyone,

I am planning to book a Mexican Riviera cruise with Norwegian Star in January 2006. My two kids are pool "funs", they love to play in pool and water slide. Can anybody please give me some comments, is the pool water too cold to play in January? or should I change our schedule? When will be the best season to sail to Mexican Riviera?

Thanks in advance.

It doesn't get that cold in January off the Mexician coast.
Look at these average climate temperatures for Carbo, and that's the northern most port on your cruise,

Cabo San Lucas Seasonal Climate Chart.
High Low
January 72 - 79 60 - 65
February 72 - 77 60 - 65
March 74 - 77 60 - 65
April 79 - 84 63 - 67
May 80 - 85 65 - 70
June 80 - 85 67 - 72
July 87 - 92 73 - 79
August 90 - 95 74 - 80
September 90 - 95 76 - 80
October 85 - 91 74 - 79
November 80 - 85 65 - 70
December 73 - 80 65 - 70

Add the fact that the sun heats the water in the pools, how can they get too cold?

I was just on the NCL Star in October. The pool water on the first and last day was a little on the cool side, so in January it might be a little on the cold side those two days. The other days the water was not warm, but after 30 seconds I didn't notice.

You can read my review by clicking on the link below. I do comment about the pool ...
