Island Princess Questions

Just a few wacky questions before we sail on 9/21/04. Do the refrigerators in the mini suites have a freezer compartment ? Should we bring rain gear for Hilo? Should we bring warm clothing for the sea days? Has any woman found a deodorant that does not leave white marks on your dark , usually formal clothing. Are the self service laundries available 24 X 7 ?

Thanks for your help.

:wave..don't remember the mini-suite on Aloha deck last year on the Coral Princess ( Island Princess's twin sister.)having a freezer...=shrug..:help....:grin..use a clear solid deoderant now for formal wear..tons of brands at Walmart.......on the Island and Coral there are self service laundries on every other floor..bring Quarters and soap for ease of use and they have ironing boards and irons too...:thumb., also bring a small screw top bottle from the travel section with Cheer in it and rinse out swimsuits and hang on clothes liner in shower for multiple swimsuit use as the stench from the sea settles in the suits!!...would bring a dollar store type poncho anyways ..I do on any cruise..;)..Have an awesome time...we are going to get a ghost booking on Princess in February ( see the Guest hostess relations officer on future bookings..the deals CANNOT BE BEAT..and you can ask for "share the wealth" coupons for friends or relatives not sailing at that time for a sailing deal with your future cruise booking!!..) and apply it to a 15 day round trip LA to Hawaii for 2007...enjoy!!!!...we book 18 months out so post a review and tell me how it went ..=bigwave...:)..Joanne

I would bring a couple of cool weather outfits as you might need them on sea days a day or two out of LA on the way to Hawaii and on the way back.

Use a clear deodorant for the nights you dress formally.

Self service laundry available 24/7.

No freezer in the mini-fridges.........they usually refill the ice bucket twice daily. Yes, a hooded poncho or water proof jacket would be a good idea in Hilo - usually not all day rains but usually rains some every day.

Yes, laundry is available 24/7. Bring your own dryer sheets & detergent if you want something other than regular Tide. Bring a roll of quarters, packed in a sock so the TSA people don't see it.

How about clear deoderants? They might work. :?

No freezer compartment on the mini-suite refrigerators, sorry.

For the sea days, I would bring a sweater or lightweight jacket. Layers are best, as sometimes it warms up during the day and is cool at night & in the morning.

For Hilo, bring a cheap, throw away poncho if you don't want to get wet. Try to get one with a hood so you don't need to bring an umbrella. We didn't get rained on much - mostly just drizzle.

It's been unbelievably hot here in So. Cal. the last 3 days. Chances are that it'll still be pretty warm by the time you're here.

Have fun! It's a beautiful ship! :wave
