Getting ready to book my second cruise on Princess this year! =docdance Did the Emerald in January and going on the Island in October to Panama. Need suggestions on mini suites... I understand that the balconies might be covered on this ship. Any suggestions? Also, any recommends on Costa Rico, Panama or Aruba on excursions?

:wave we stayed on the mini-suite A503 "bump out" on Coral Princess back in '03.
her 4th sailing..she was squeeky brand new!!..:lol..
it was for a 10 day Panama Canal cruise..we adore that ship..!!.it was PERFECT..there are only 4 of these on Aloha, Baja, and Caribe..so they are hard to snag..it was only the 2 of us..the balcony was a smaller one for "mini-suites".. and covered..but we had a blast..Happy Research..:)..Joanne

We had a mini booked on Dolphin deck but found out it was uncovered so we changed to Caribe deck. Better location anyway. Sounds like you want uncovered.

Joanne, is this bump out on the Grand as well, as by bump out, do you mean just the balcony is a bit larger? Thx

Hi Connie,

I don't know about all Princess ships, but on the Island and many others they do have what they call "bump out" balcony cabins. On the Island these balconies were in a group of cabins that actually did stick out maybe five or six feet more than the other balconys. I think that the whole cabin may be offset, so there may or may not be more actual inside living space.

Oh, I know the ones you mean. I don't like that about the design of Princess - that you look down at peoples heads. I THINK it's the only line that does that, I know RCCL and Celebrity all side balconies are "flush" so everyone gets to see the sea....thx for the reply

In Panama I make a little tour with my friend Mario in Costa Rica with Matias, a small combo, Jungle Boat - Banana Plantation, Bonita Beach and a view of the city.
