Hello everyone,

My wife and I have not been on a cruise in 5 year's. We have been on Carnival, NCL and the last 4 cruises on Celebrity which we both love. We have been to Bermuda twice before on a cruise and loved the Island.

We are now planning to go back to Bermuda on Celebrity. In the past we loved the staff, service and the food, We have also heard that the Summit was being refurbished this past January.

Can anybody please inform us if they have noticed any change in the superb staff, service or food quality, the last time we sailed on Celebrity was back in 2005 on a cruise to Alaska.

I would also love to hear from anybody who has seen the Summit after it was refurbished. All posts are greatly appriciated.

Haven't been on the Summit..
but I can tell you that there are few changes with X. (Other than their budget) There has been some tightening of the food budget which has caused some changes but as a mainstream line they remain positioned (I think) still near the top. Staff and service still just fine with me compared to the past.

Celebrity M class ships are too big to get into the heart of Bermuda and you will be anchored out at the "Kings Wharf" ..... so some research into where you would like to go and how to get there is required in advance to make your holiday better. Ferry's (some fast) and buses are the main ways to get around. Having been there before you should know the drill but in case you had not been at that Wharf thought I'd give you a heads up.

Thank you Bseabob. Though I am happy to hear that the staff and service are about the same I am saddened to hear that the quality of the food may have slipped a bit. I would liked to have seen them increase the price to keep the food at a high quality as in the past, which makes the specialty restaurants seem a bit more the way I would go for at least half the time for the dinners.

I was aware of the docking at King Wharf. My wife and I have on the past two visits had rented a moped which was an execellent choice for us. We toured the entire Island on a 2 seater moped. I am just wondering if the mopeds are avaiable where the ship docks in Kings Wharf ?.

Also We loved the excursion to Hawkins Island at night. Its a Pirate themed Island with all the food you can eat along with whatever you want to drink. It was alot of fun, just wondering if that excursion is still offered. Thanks to all who reply.

Although not positive I'm sure the Bermudians (is that what u call em) wouldn't miss an opportunity .. Re the food. You may not notice the difference but it is a fact. Almost all the mainstream lines have tightened the money belt.
I'm OK on my scooter but the boss .....nope !
