--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We had another wonderful time in Juneau.

The first week we were there we had a couple of rain showers early in the morning. By the time we got off the ship it was sunny in town. We walked over to Captain's Larry's office and booked his whale watching tour. I had read about his tours on another site and decided we would try them. We had originally booked the ship's tour but cancelled it not knowning if we were going to make this cruise. We were on the morning excursion. It was fabulous. Saw lots of whales. Highly recommend Captain Larry!!

When we got back we decided to have a quick lunch and drink at the Red Dog Saloon. We have eaten there many times. One time it was so crowded and there were quite a few drunks in there that we didn't stay. I have no idea what ship they were from - many of them looked very young. We noticed this time that they had aperson checking ID's of those individuals whom they felt were not of the drinking age. And we watched them turn away quite a few people. When we finished lunch we told the bar tender that we would be back to see him next week. He looked at us as though we had had one too many - we didn't tell him that we were on back-to-back cruises. After lunch we decided to take the BLUE bus out to Mendenhall Glacier. It was $6 per person each way. Great Price!! We got to spend as much time there as we wanted and walk the trails as long as we wanted. No time restrictions like you have on a ship's tour. We didn't have a lot of time to walk around town when we got back.

The second week it rained for most of the morning. Around noon the sun popped out and off we went to walk around town and of course stop by the Red Dog Saloon. Boy was our bar tender surprised to see us. He said that not many people do back-to-back cruises. Gave us a drink on the house!!

So we had 2 wonderful times in Juneau.
