Just back from Voyager today and WHAT A CRUISE. Everything from start to finish was just amazing. So smooth. From embarkation to debarkation it was something out of a dream. I found RCI to be so great in so many ways. They were so prompt and helpful in everything they did. Our stateroom attendant was the best (Zigi from Peru), and all the crew members went out of their way to help. Voyager seemed to be ahead of the rest in parking close at ports, and their tendering was the best. We observed Carnival passengers seeming to wait in long lines while we just got off and on without any difficulty.
Embarkation was very smooth. We got to the pier around 2:00 and we walked right through, got our sea pass cards and were on our way.
1st Day at sea was spent just getting to know this magnificant ships public areas. Loved all the different nooks and crannies and loved every deck. We took many pictures around the ship and the art is really beautiful. Our stateroom was deck 10 aft and I would totally recommend this floor and aft as it was so close to the buffet and the pool areas. My kids loved the sports deck, and I believe my son played putt putt 30 times or more. The food service crew do an amazing job turning out food for that number of people, and I guess I gained 5 or more pounds in the process. Though many say the food is like eating in a cafeteria is was much better than that. The first formal night steak melted in my mouth and I cut it with a fork.
Labadee: Ya hoo. What a great first day to get your feet wet in the Caribbean. We laid and played in the water and the buffet again on the island was great for the number of people to serve. Don't miss dragon rock and the sounds of the sleeping dragon.
Ocho Rios: Dunn's River Falls is a once in a lifetime experience. We got a DVD of the whole thing, just watched it and cracked up. We will cherish it forever. Went with Pete Taylor... Okay tour, probably could have done the same ourselves, but felt very safe with him and his son.
Grand Cayman: Did Moby Dick Tours. Would recommend it. Got to touch many lovely ladies (female stingrays), and the kids had a blast (water was awful rough though that day). Expensive place for everything else.
Cozumel: LOVED IT!!! Shopping was totally awesome. Senor Frogs was hopping. Besides the pier everything was up and running well. No one should feel as if they should divert their plans because of last years hurricane. My absolute favorite port!!!!!! Rent a car early and drive around the island. Only one road around. Stop at paradise beach and also some great snorkeling places. Local food awesome....
Other highlights on the ship: Get your picture taken!!!!!! Portraits I mean. They turn out beautiful and there is no sitting fee. Go to the Ice Show, not to be missed. Love and Marriage very cool, and almost peed my pants during the Quest Kids 9 and 10 went to the kids program only at night 7P-10P good for them and us . Met many new friends. They really enjoyed the staff members.
Best TIPS: Thank you all. Cannot go without the over the door shoe holder- life saver. Also bright tape on the luggage, and bring your own water shoes and snorkeling equipment.
Anyone who says Voyager is showing wear and tear, or the service is not good is crazy. The ship is in amazing shape for the number of passengers it sees, and at every turn the crew bent over backwards to meet demands. Anyone who is getting ready to go crusing soon I am totally jealous TTFN
