Just booked for the Carnival Miracle leaving out of Tampa on the 27th. We got the last balcony cabin on board which was 5245. Looks like a strange layout compared to the rest. Is anyone familiar with it?

This should be a good cabin-layout is sideways from the other cabins. The top of the lifeboat beyond the balcony will be just below the top of the balcony rail. View out is excellent, you just can't look straight down. The deck 5 balconies are narrow (about 4') and yours will be longer than most. You will enjoy the cabin, the ship and the ports as well. Try to be up on the top deck when you go under the Skyway brige. A sight not to be missed.

5245 is an amazing cabin. First cruise surly will spoil you for future ones.

This is a handicapped cabin. there is no sofa in the cabin. THe cat is a 7A - you wont be able to look down into the waters..but will be able to see out find.

Thanks so much for the info! I just assumed being the last cabin available and it looking different from the majority there was some hidden defect I wasn't aware of. That's exciting to know and the deck looks sweet.

serene56:

My pictures of a 7A balconly do not show it being that wide. And the shot you refenece does not show the lifeboats beyond the railing. I beleive the pictures you reference are a 7A or higher balcony.
Like 6234, 6281, 7303, 7260, 8239 or 8234. Or one of the dark green cabins in the catalog. I just would not want "bcruiser" to be disappointed.

The only problem I see is that it is next to the stairway.I try to stay away from cabin's that are next to the stairs or elevator's.But if it was the last one left you can't do anything about it now. Just go and enjoy.Viet

Not all 7a balconies are the same- there are two balconies that are very long. Yes, they are obstructed to where the lifeboat will be at the partition of the balcony. You can see out...not look down.. and when you are seated you have to look over top of the life boat. There is a pic of the cabin on the other side of the ship-- the balcony of this 7A room is the one with the lifeboat there. The balcony is the width of the picture.

as far as the stairs--the set up on the Spirt class ship is amazing. You walk out your cabin and into the room that holds the stairs/elevators. even in the hall you dont hear the ding. Its thee place to be.

On Miracle class ships the 7A balconies are all the same width (about 4 feet, fairly tight) but do vary in length.

I wouldn't worry about being near the stairs and elevators. We had a location like that on one cruise and it was not a problem. Have fun on your cruise. We'll be on the Miracle 12/11. I can't wait!

I'm just happy to have any balcony. We booked last minute and were only planning on a outside room when I discovered that to upgrade to balcony was only another 10 bucks. How sweet. Obstructed, not obstructed...its a balcony I really wasn't anticipating.

Why would the stairs be an issue...noise? If that's the case I'm not too concerned as I sleep like a log...particularly after a few cocktails of which I plan to have many.
