Re: Just off the
We returned today from 4/12 and 4/19 back to backs on Zuiderdam.
The 4/19 sailing was Zuiderdam's first to the Western Caribbean and all went well.
We have done that route soooo many times and found some considerable improvements in Cozumel. They have spent alot of money improving the docks and both the large ones have very nice shopping areas that are clean, safe and pleasant to stroll around if you don't wish to take a taxi downtown.
IMO...Grand Cayman should seriously consider spending some money on tender dock space. It isn't likely they will build docks large enough for the ships, but when there are five or six ships in port (which has become very common for Cayman), the tenders from all of the ships are fighting for dock space to load and unload pax.
We chose to stay aboard rather than bob around in tenders while they try to jockey for a bit of space to tie up at.
Key West was fabulous as always and we had a great day there....as well as HAL's private island, Half Moon Cay.
I posted a lengthy thread on cruisecritic.com about the ship. We liked it far more than we expected and did not experience any of the things we have heard others mention.
