First let me say that this was my first cruise so I can't really compare but I have lots of experience with land based resort travel. Overall I was happy with my experience. We had Personal Choice seating which we loved and by day 3 had found some waiters and a table that the Maitre D just knew that we were always going to request. We were sailing over Halloween and their decorations and pumpkin carvings were unbelievable. In the future I would chose a cruise that stopped at ports right away rather than having two days at sea immediately. We were bored by day two. However, we did have another day at sea after two islands and we were ready for the rest. Loved St Maarten and St Thomas. Thought that Princess Cays Island was kind of a rip off since we couldn't use our soda cards and the shopping was limited.

I found the people on the ship in general to be non-adventerous travellers. I actually heard people complaining on the private island that they would have to walk in the sand on the beach in order to get to a lounge chair.

I would take a cruise again but plan it differently. I met fun people and a good time with them. Perhaps a different cruise line might be better for me.

The best things I packed were extra hangers, an alarm clock, a power strip, neosporin, and a travel iron. I learned a lot at this sight and felt I was well prepared for the cruise. So I wanted to add this review. I hope it helps and I am happy to respond to individual questions on this forum.

Hi, redhead - Glad you enjoyed the cruise, but maybe next time try a Southern Caribbean cruise where you are in a port almost every day. It's busier but you get to see and do a lot!
We will be on the Golden in a couple of weeks, and are trying to decide what night to make our Sabatini's reservation. Do you remember what menues are for what nights in the dining rooms? Like is the 2nd night "French", the 3rd night "Italian", etc?? If you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks!

My husband really enjoys Mexico and would probably enjoy that route as well. Where do those cruises usually start?
