Any suggestions for excursions in Key West? Any experience with the glass bottom or Great White Sub Sea excursion. Will be there next Friday. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,

I enjoyed the kayaking through the mangroves last time I was there. The guides are great and it's really enjoyable. It's not too physically exhausting but you do get a bit of exercise and enjoy some sea life.

I've heard good things about the kayaking, and heard a positive report on bike tours as well. My one suggestion: Definitely book something, unless hanging out in Key West bars for hours on end is what you're after.

Enjoy, and safe travels!

There is also a beach not far from the pier at Fort Zachary Taylor State Park.

Where does the ship tie up in relationship to the town itself? Can you stroll into town from the dock?

I was just in Key West last week. We took in a excursion that we found once we got there. The company name was Sunny Days. We went by boat to a Dolphin "playground". It was INCREDIBLE! After dolphins play for about an hour we had a snorkel. The Snorkel was not the best, but it was ok. The total cost for this was 55.00 per person. It's a nice intimate excursion, as there were four of us (we were together).

Re: Key West excursions? UPDATE

We have returned from our cruise. We booked the glass bottom boat tour through the ship. $35 I think. We had 8 people. It was a waste of money. The ocean was choppy so they changed the plan and took us to a "coral garden" instead of the coral reef. They informed us after we had boarded the boat and after a 30 min wait at the dock. We saw only a few fish. The boat was nice but we were very disappointed. I think we should have been notified before we waited in line.

Update... Carnival has made an effort to rectify the situation. Partial credit for next cruise. Better than nothing.
