What time do stores and things open in the morning? We get in around 8am and are trying to plan our schedule.

It was about 9 a.m. when we were there several years ago. I remember because we took the trolley shuttle into the square and walked from there. Shops were just opening up as we walked by. The streets were very quiet and nice. By the time we reached the end of Duvall street and got to the Southern most point marker, the tours and buses were out in full force. It is a lot cooler too to walk early in the morning. Don't miss a stop at Hog's Breath Saloon.

We were there on the Enchantment in September 2002 and we went ashore around 9 AM and many of the stores were still shut. We wanted to go to Key West Fabrics and it didn't open until 10:30 AM. We ended up taking one of the trolly tours and then walked back around 11 and they were just opening then.
My wife and I were both surprised at the fact more shops weren't open given there was a cruise ship in port. At most of the ports in the Caribbean they open up early when the ships come in but I guess Key West operates at it's own schedule.
It is a good time to walk around and see the sights since it definitely isn't crowded and it is cooler in the morning. It still starts getting hot by 10 or so if the sun is shining.
