Kiefer Update

He's doing very well! When I had to go to an appt. Kiefer was nowhere to be found. I figured he was out in the back with his dad. When I returned DH told me that Kiefer had gone out back and brought him a stick. He threw it, and Kiefer ran and got it! So they did that a few times, and Kief loved it! He's feeling better!

He was in a lot of pain and misery the first few days, but he's really recovered nicely so far. Still have to watch for infection setting it, but he seems to be doing well, so I am going to take him off the Rimadyl and see how he does.

It's stunning how fast they recover. I'm sure part of it is that genetic memory thing of showing no handicaps, but it's also hugely due to sweet mommy love! :sunny:

I'm glad he's recovering very well. How are his nights? Lots of whimpering and crying?

Charles, his nights are very good. Regular Kiefer back. He jumps on the bed with us, and is very comfortable sleeping on there with us and which ever cat feels like sharing the bed with the 3 of us. He doesn't seem to be in any pain any more. I suspect that most of the pain in his leg was due to swelling and now that the inflammation has gone down, he's fine. The tubes might cause some discomfort but they run under the loose skin, not through any muscle, so he's probably ok there too.

Auntie Mary Ann and Pucci, Kiefer is doing pretty good. He goes to the vets on Wednesday to have his tubes and stitches removed. We are both very happy about that.
