I am booked on the Constellation in December, and when I booked the itinerary was showing Casa de Campo in the Dominican. Now, it is showing La Romana. Is this the same place? Just curious... I've got lots of time to research.

They are the same place. There will be a free shuttle bus that will take you to either "The Marina" or a place called "Chevron." When they give something for free, you know they are really hurting to get you off the ship and go to their places.
"The Marina" was not that great. It was full of the most expensive shops I've seen in the Caribbean. It looked like a Las Vegas mall with no conection to the country you were in.
"Chevron" was very interesting. It looks like a 300 year old spanish town but it was only about 30 years old. Frank Sinatra sang at its' grand opening. The stone work was unbeliveable. There are many shops and resturants. A beautiful fountain area with a lot of local people just visiting the site. It was like being transported back in time. There are many elevated views of the Chevron River which meanders like a snake through a jungle. The gem, Amber, and the stone, Laramar was availabe in many of the shops. The best selection I have seen. The prices can be talked down at least one third.

This is curious because I am saling the Millie on 11/28 and have visited Celebrity's website for shore excursions. For the past two weeks they have posted that they are updating/gathering information on shore excursions for Casa de Campo.

So, it may be that Casa de Campo may have been bumped from the itinerary. From what I've read, this is not the greatest port on the cruise anyway. In the past, the day was spent at Catalina Island which I read was crowded but a good day.

If I find out more I will be happy to post here again.

Went to Catalina Island in April, 04 on the Paradise. It is a beautiful beach, we enjoyed the day just relaxing and swimming in the ocean. We had a wonderful time.
