They are the same place. There will be a free shuttle bus that will take you to either "The Marina" or a place called "Chevron." When they give something for free, you know they are really hurting to get you off the ship and go to their places.
"The Marina" was not that great. It was full of the most expensive shops I've seen in the Caribbean. It looked like a Las Vegas mall with no conection to the country you were in.
"Chevron" was very interesting. It looks like a 300 year old spanish town but it was only about 30 years old. Frank Sinatra sang at its' grand opening. The stone work was unbeliveable. There are many shops and resturants. A beautiful fountain area with a lot of local people just visiting the site. It was like being transported back in time. There are many elevated views of the Chevron River which meanders like a snake through a jungle. The gem, Amber,and the stone, Laramar was availabe in many of the shops. The best selection I have seen. The prices can be talked down at least one third.
