laminated birth certificates

We are sailing from Boston to Bermuda on 7/25. This is my family's first cruise, and there are seven of us going. One major concern, though, is that my husband's aunt who is going with us got a certified copy of her birth certificate for the trip but then she laminated it. I have talked to my travel agent at AAA who said that it should be fine so long as they can SEE the raised seal. Not that I don't trust the travel agent, but I'm a little nervous about this because I don't want to get there on Sunday and have her be turned away because it is laminated. Has anybody else out there gotten on board with a laminated birth certificate? Thanks so much for any advice or help!!

I already have! Thank you for responding. I'm on another cruise forum, and most everyone recommended that she get another so that's what we ended up doing. Thanks for the advice.

I wouldn't even worry about it. Every cruise we took before we invested in passports, the B/C was barely glanced at, and to make matters more interesting, my SO has a B/C in one name, a drivers licence in another (previous married) name, and cruise docs in new name. No one even asked about it! I think the clerks just have to check the box: cruise docs, B/C and most important: CREDIT CARD!! Who is going to think that some nice old lady is a bad guy 'cause her B/C is in plastic?
