I posted this on the open broad as of today no answers. Maybe this broad will know. Going on a land/cruise package out Fairbanks to Whitter. How do you do the meals, our you on your own or does Princess do them for you? What do you do with your cruise luggage, formal wear etc. do take with you on the land tour? Thank You

I have some of the same questions. My TA said travelers are on their own for meals on the land tour. Have you tried calling Princess? I will post here if I find any answers.

I too am booked for a land/cruise tour with Princess. I am under the impression we are on our own regarding meals unless you booked the "escorted" land tour. All the Princess lodges and the train have a restaurant(s) of sorts. As far as pricing goes, cant answer that but I am sure they will be somewhat pricey, so budget high :lol

I have been reading mixed comments on how not needed luggage is being handled. I am going to wait till my cruise gets closer and I too will be calling Princess.

Fairbanks airport to hotel

Does anyone know how far it is from the fairbanks airport to the hotels that Princess uses for the Land/Cruise package? Are there cabs at the airport?

We did a land/cruise tour through Princess 2 years ago. The airport is about 5 or ten minutes from the Princess Fairbanks lodge. We flew in a day early and didn't do transfers, but called the Princess Lodge from baggage claim and they picked us up in about 15 minutes (free shuttle). The meals were not included. They ranged from $8-$15 for lunch and about twice that for dinner. All the lodges have restaurants. Lunch on the train was pretty good (especially reindeer chili) and about the same prices. Nice experience; white linen table clothes and napkins, china etc.
As for luggage, it's remarkable how seamlessly they get your luggage where it needs to be. Frequently was in our room before we were. We sent 3 suitcases "directly to ship" from Fairbanks. It really was worry free.
