MMM.... I don't know about this ship, i mean it's big as all get out, and it's got personality.... But it seems to me they could have tweaked it just a little bit more. I mean the idea and ship design is great. They could have done a little more with the interior design i think. It just seems so plain, so everyday, so any other RCI ship in that respect. I like the idea of the boardwalk, but it seems a bit stuffy from the video. Like they tried to cram in so many things into that space that it seems a bit crowded. I like the outdoor amphitheare idea, and i think they nailed it putting it aft... especially with the wraparound balcony style viewing from the other decks.

Don't get me wrong, i think this is a great ship. I just wonder what they changed at the last minute to make their reception date... I kind of have to wonder if they changed some of the interior decor, and furnishings at the last minute due to cost overruns on other aspects of the ship... I mean the public areas seem to be outfitted in much of the same fashion as the other RCI fleet.. just sort of plain and drab. Maybe it's just me and i have become too expectant of in what my ideas of bigger and better should be...

The Oasis looks just fine to me and knowing RCI, they didn't cut corners. They leave that up to Carnival for their ships. Ship looks just like video and drawings that we saw on line over the past two years.

Personally I like the understated atmosphere of Royal Caribbean. Ships have a classy look without being boring.

LOL .. i wasn't saying the ship isn't awesome, i Just think they undershot the mark on the whole bigger and better thing. I mean , if you're going to duild one of the largest(if not the largest)passenger cruiseship, why not also spend the money on the bling in the public areas of the ship. For example, i noticed the seating in the atrium was upholstered in very plain and ordinary fabrics. They could have chosen to use better looking or better quality of material. As for the boardwalk theme, they could have done more with less. Meaning that instead of trying to cram everything in there they could have had a more open feel to it... While it may be different than what was shown in the video it seems that just walking this "floating shopping mall", will be somewhat cramped. The walkways appear to be a little narrow in some places(like wide enough for maybe 2-3 people wide). Which could have a bottleneck effect to a degree.

Overall, i think this is a beautiful ship, with a great design. I'm sure it is simply a matter of me nit picking the details(i do that alot..some friends will not go to the movies with me because of it). It also is due in part to the hype this ship has recieved since it's build was announced. After all, it is often difficult for things to live up to the hype they are given before they are even a reality...
