Unlike CCL you do have to send your laundry out on RCCL, however its very inexspensive, i have done it several times because i never pack more than one 22inch carryon when i cruise, and yes, i manage to fit 10 days worth of stuff shoes formal gowns, snorkel gear.. its pretty amazing actually, anyways i digress, i pack 2 pairs of black comfy stretch dressy pants for dinners and pair them off with different tops, a plain black dressy tank goes a long way with diff costume jewlery and i have the clothes washed half way thru the week... i had 4 days worth of clothes washed for 9 on the last cruise.. but to me even if it cost 20 bucks to not have to over pack for me is key.... plus YOU personally dont have to waste your time in the laundromat on your vacation... which we have done on carnival, id much rather send it out.. it all comes back on hangers.. even your undies believe it or not, are safey pinned to a hanger :)

One of my least favorite things to do at home is laundry. For that reason, I never do it on a cruise even if there are laundry rooms. I suppose the laundry rooms would come in handy for families traveling with children but for just us two the price is very reasonable.

I remember Melissa as the queen of packing! I need some tips. I'm hoping for another picture of a packed bag to see if I can figure out some pointers.

Many ships are now putting laundry bags in the staterooms ..... for undies, t-shirts, etc ---- things that don't need to be dry-cleaned or pressed; just laundered and folder. You stuff the bag full and for $20, VOILA - your laundry is back the next day. On a 7-night cruise, we had one left the third night, and on a recent 12-night crusise, the bags were left on the 4th and 8th night. They're a nice size, and you canget quite a bit into them.
I'm like another poster --- I don't like to do laundry at home, so I'm not going to do it on a cruise. This is a nice touch by RCCL now. I think it's fleet wide (except for the ships the do the 3/4 night sailings.

Yes Melissa! Please repost a the pic. :D There are 12 of us sailing the Adventure in Feb and we are all already talking about packing tips. It's funny, a girlfriend of mine and her husband went with us last Feb when we sailed the Emerald and she ended up with 5 bags ::eek: Her husband told her she'd have to figure out a way to cut some stuff out. She was going to take 1 suitcase just for shoes. She actually made it with 3 bags. This time with all of the added fee's, not to mention the hassle of checked bags we are going to keep it very minimal so we would love any tips that you, THE QUEEN of packing can give us! Thanks.

Be careful though, I recevieved the offer note (undated) and popped the bag in the cupboard. I stuffed it full and left it out the following afternoon. They refused to honor it and charged me for all the individual items. I had no idea it had to be used same-day. Apparently it said so in cruise compass, but it certainly didn't mention it on the bag or the offer note. =huh

Another Warning - When they say that you can fill the bag and they will clean it all for $20, that only includes underwear, t-shirts and socks. Any items like long sleeve shirts, pants, etc are at the normal price.

I threw in some shorts (Bermuda type) and polo shirts and they washed and folded them as part of the $20 price. It is really underwear and socks that I need to have laundered during the cruise and this works out quite well for us.
