laundry on Dawn

I can't find the post from someone who said that the Dawn has passenger laundry facilities. I have checked both the NCL website and the Dawn brochure and I cannot find anything that says there are laundry facilities on board. Can anyone who has sailed on the Dawn give me the right info? Thanks

Wags:

I have read on another board that the Dawn has self-serve laundry facilities that are free. You only need to purchase a box of powder or bring your own.

I am also looking for this info. I did get a response from someone who had not yet been on the Dawn but had heard that laundry facilities were available.

I think that someone was me. I read this on Cruise Critic Message boards. One woman commented that the one of the laundry services was on floor 5.

Thanks to all. I checked with an NCL rep and even she wasn't sure. I think the only hope I have to get an answer is if someone who has been on board will respond.

I just checked with an NCL rep as well. (after waiting 20 minutes) and she confirmed that the Dawn had laundry facilities on decks 9, 10 and 11 aft. They are FREE.

Thanks jonsmom57. Now I can cut down on my packing as long as I know I can wash clothes. I don't know why they don't show the laundries in the deck plans.

I agree - they should show them on the plans. I always like to travel with a couple of those wash tablets and a few dryer sheets of my own.

Enjoy your trip!

I was on the Dawn and there are laundry facilities there. We were in 11080 and the laundry was near there. And I agree, they really should show them on the deck plans.

BigAL, We are booked on the Dawn sailing on 03/21/04. We are 2 "seniors" and are concerned about the posts I've read complaining about the number of kids on board taking over the pools, deck chairs, theater seats, etc. When did you go and did you encounter these same problems? I've cruised many times but this is my sister's first cruise and I want it to be special for her. We both have plenty of grandkids so it's not kids we object to just the large numbers we've heard about. Any info would be appreciated. Also, how were the shore excursions?

wags, we were on board on the 9/28 sailing. There were not all that many kids on board. I think that you are at the tail end of spring break that week, so it should not be all that bad. We didn't notice that the pool was all that crowded, but then we aren't pool people (prefer sitting on nice chair and reading :) ). The pool in the spa was not crowded at all from what I heard.

We did the pontoon boat in Canaveral, the Everglades air boat in Miami, and the sea and see in Nassau. We enjoyed all of them. I liked the air boat best, followed by the underwater part of the sea and see. The pontoon was OK, we saw a manatee's nose and a dolphin along with a lot of birds and nice homes :). If you have any other questions, I'd be glad to try to answer them.

We were on the Dawn for New Year's and yes there on laundry services. We were in cabin 1022 forward and they were just down the hall. We were onboard her between Christmas and New Year's and the children were not a problem. If fact, we never saw any "little cruises" running through the halls.

Thanks BigAL & maria. Now that I know we can have clean clothes and a quiet place to sit I'm sure we'll have a great time.

I have a question about the airboat ride. Does it go really fast? Is it scarey? More of a thrill-seeker excursion?

Thanks
Joanne
