I've made the drive between the Long Beach pier and the San Pedro pier several times in one day. It did not take me 25 minutes. And who takes the freeway? A few surface streets and a bridge and you are there. Leaving on the Lane Victory (a World War II liberty ship) we sailed close enough to the Long Beach port for me to see the Carnival Pride at her dock.I even have pictures of both ports in one photograph (taken from a plane) at home I can post (if you want to see it). The two ports are not that far apart. In fact, the Long Beach port and the San Pedro port are neighbors, sharing the same break water.
