Hi Daniel,

I and my friend Lisa are sailing on the cruise after yours (01/13/03) but I have sailed on the pride/legend class of ships previously. Major strengths of this class:
fabulous easy layout of the ship; you will have it memorized and know your way around by the third day. Dining room service/food: good to very good. SPA/gym: fantastic. Nightlife: the variety of venues is awesome. Weaknesses: The only thing I didn't care for was the incredibly expensive bingo, the teeny tiny overpriced balcony (i had an 8b) and the rude staff at the photo dept. You will have an excellent time. My full review of the pride is on cruise-addicts.

Thanks kimann to your response to my posting. I'm looking forward to the adventure and will have a full report upon returning to my home base in Toronto.

Hi
I am going to be going on that date too! My husband, my brother in law, his girlfriend and I.
I was wondering if you got your room assignment and if you got an upgrade if you booked as a gurantee.
Also was there any reduction in the price of the cruise. I know other people mentioned that this occurred for their ships reservation (different ship though).
My travel agent is not in today so just wondering :)
Thanks
Heather

Hi Heather,

I'm eagerly awaiting my docs which are suspose to arrive today or tomorrow. This is my first cruise so I'm not quite sure of how the upgrades work. However, I have heard that the ship is going to be close to full capacity. I'm travelling with a co-worker and since we have our own cabins we are in the 4A category. Not quite sure if that will change or not.
A bunch of people from other boards and groups sailing with us are trying to all meet up after the muster drill on one of the decks. I'll keep you posted as to where the 'first' party of the cruise will be held.

Heather,
My family is also on this cruise. We booked an 8A and 4A gty. We will not get our docs until the pier. But using the Kelly method I found the rooms we are currently assigned.
Our 8a was upgraded to a 8B, 5247, the kids 4A was upgraded to a 5A obstucted view
outside. Works for us in that there room is one deck below us and two cabins down and each room is two cabins from a staircase. Way to go Carnival!

Hi Russ
Thats awesome about the upgrade. I called the travel agent for the booking # but couldn't find where to enter the info in on the carnival web site. she said we may find out before about the rooms otherwise we find out when we get to the ship. i also asked if the price for the cruise happened to have dropped. she said she checked not long ago and they are the same :)
It's 86 degrees in Panama. I am really looking forward to it.

Just wondering if you all looked into any of the island excursions?

Heather,
go to the Gifts and svcs tab and then pretend to order something. After you order it a screen will come up and ask for your booking number and cabin number. Enter your booking number
abd then start plugging cabin number in starting with your category. It appears most 4a's
were upgraded to 5A's or higher if you booked early. Good luck. For info on shore excursions email me and I can send you some areas to look.

Hi Heather,

In Belize I'm tagging along with a large group for the cave tubing. They have booked this outing with a local tour guide named Reggie who from all the accounts I've read has a terrific reputation and ensures everyone a wonderful experience. It was the highlight of many people's cruise according to the message boards.

As of yesterday this group had approximately 20 spaces left for the cave tubing. You can take a look at their website dedicated to our trip at the following address.

As for the other ports I may just play it by ear.

Just over a week to go and were off. I guess I should start thinking about what to pack (last minute guy) I'm sure many of you have either planned this or have packed already!

Since this is my first cruise, is there one thing that people forget to bring that is essential?? Your comments would be appreciated.

Just 2 more days until we sail................we are all trying to get together aboard the ship for a meet and greet after the muster drill on the Funnel deck. Hope to see you there.

Bring sunscreen, money for tipping room service people, luggage porters, tour guides, etc. Bring a travel alarm for the cabin (no clocks in the cabins).....but most of all bring your sense of fun!!!!

I'm get on the Legend the day you get off...please leave the ship intact so we can enjoy it!! <vbg>

BTW - my friend and I booked a 4A gty and were upgraded to a cat 6 outside - pretty happy with that!

Lisa,

Thanks for the advise. The upgrade fairy waved the magic wonder wand for you ...lucky. I'm stuck where we started in 4A. Oh well at least we have our own cabins even though they are smaller and no windows. I really don't plan on spending much time in there anyway.

We will try to keep the ship in the same shape as we have found it....but I can't make any definate promises on that one!!! lol.

I hope you have a great trip.

Hi,

We just got nailed overnight with a major snow storm that is suspose to last throught the day today. I'm scheduled to fly out to Ft. Lauderdale tomorrow afternoon. I guess I shouldn't be too worried about delays or cancellations as the airports usally act quickly to clean it all up.

8 wonderful days days of sunshine, warmth, tropical drinks, great food and fun! erhaps I'll stay behind and rent huts on the beach or something...lol

My shovel is going to miss me!!!!!

Hi Daniel
We are expecting snow tonight too and tomorrow (NY). We have a 7am flight so I hope even though it could be delayed we still have plenty of time to spare!
Yay two days to go, I can't wait.
Have a nice flight
