I am sailing on the Liberty in Sept. I have read that the ship is WiFi accessible anywhere on the ship. Is this accurate? What is your experience with taking your laptop? can you use it in your cabin?

Thanks for the info. Am I correct, I will have to pay a charge for a card for my laptop and then either purchase a package of mins or the pay-per-min charge?

If you already have the card [I believe it's most common kind] no need to buy one

I have used my laptop on the Liberty. Like all cruise ships the internet sevice is very slow and burns your minutes very quickly. I have tried using my Skype phone on the laptop but the band width is not big enough to accomodate the phone. Would be great way to communicate if it did. Just used my Skype phone in Mexico from the hotel using the wi fi and it worked great. Could call home for .02 cents per minute.

Even with the WiFi- it is not free and it is very slow.
At least with your own laptop you can do everything offline then log on to upload it.
