liquor from home?

Hello cruisers,

I have heard so many different bits and pieces about people bringing liquor on board Carnival ships. I am sailing on the Conquest in June and I hope someone can clarify my questions for me. Can liquor be brought on board? Do you bring it with the carry on items or packed away (hidden) in the suitcases? If it has to be packed in the suitcase, what is the best way to bring it aboard? We need a little something for the cabin!!
Any information that can be given will be appreciated!!

Carnival will allow you to bring on wine or champagne for special occasions and you can carry this on in your carry on bags but any kind of hard liquor must be brought on board in your checked luggage or it will collected at embarkation. Liquor companies are now packing a lot of liquor items in plastic bottles but I would make sure that you try to place the bottles in a large zip-loc type bag and then maybe some bubble wrap.

We were on the Holiday in Feb. The best way I was told was to place it in zip loc bag then garbage bag and wrap between clothes. My husband wears boots and I then placed them in the boots. All was fine when we arrived.

I sailed on the Ecstasy in January and we put liquor in regular plastic water bottles and just carried it right on. It may not work with all liquor, but it worked just fine with vodka! Would probably work OK with white rum too!

We just sailedon the Pride in April and we're able to bring on a bottle of Smirinoff that was in plastic and some wine for wine coolers that was in a box.All of this was in our checked luggage. Also when we were in St.Martin I purchased some liquor ashore and carried it aboard by jusst walking past the young lady collecting.I don't think they are very serious about taking the liquor from you before you get on board.I also bought a six pack in St. Martin and just carried it on in a plastic bag.

Just off the Destiny and I brought a small bottle of Bombay Sapphire (martini's on the balacony just taste SO good) I wrapped that up SO well that if it did leak or break the gin wasnt going to ruin anything) first I put it in plstic bag then with packing tape covering the whole bottle then bubble wrap and using packing tape around the whole bottle again then in my beach towel...I was more worried we wouldnt be able to unwrap it once we got in the room but it was fine..even though the bottle hadnt been opened before we left I could see there seemed to be a small amount of leakage (I mean really small) ..might have been from the pressure in the plane but wrap it well and it should be fine

We always take a blarge suitcase filled with mixes and enough alcohol to last until we reach the first port, where we stock our bar for the remainder of the cruise. Of course we take the wine and champagne in our carry-ons. Beer & alcohol in checked luggage.

You have to keep a close eye on Joebat's blender, sometimes it just wants to take off on it's own. Jumps right off the bar & onto the floor. Sad part was all the margaritas that was still in it.

You can bring wine and champainge on board with no problem (don't forget a corkscrew). Although, when I tried to get through security with the two bottles of wine in my carry-on the xray person screamed out, "Bottles! She's got bottles!" I then explained that they were wine bottles and they let me through. I think it also helped that my thongs and bras were on top of the wine and made the xray man embarrased to go rifiling through all of it.

My friend and I brought loads of wine and we also brought the little bottles of liquor and put those in makeup cases and those made it throught all right. Also for mixers, you get complimentary apple juice, lemonade, iced tea, and coffee. Trust me, you can make any kind of liquor taste good with those mixer choices. I liked chambord and ice tea myself.
