liquor on Carnival

I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I’m too lazy to research all the old topics. I have a question concerning my upcoming trip on the Carnival Liberty next October 22nd. On other cruises we have taken (with Princess and Holland America) we have ordered a bottle of liquor (in our case Vodka) before the cruise to have in our cabin. Both of these lines allow you to either preorder liquor or order it from room service. Since Carnival owns both Princess and H/A I assumed you could do the same on a carnival ship however I cannot find any information to confirm this on the Carnival site. Does anyone know if you can order a bottle of liquor on Carnival? Thanks in advance.

Yes, you can go to Carnival's website under "Gifts" and then on the left you will see "Wine Cellar", just choose what you want and you can order it and have it delivered to your room before you board.
You can order online by puting in your booking number and stateroom if you know the information or you can call 1-800-522-7648 and order it over the phone.

Are you sure you can order liquor (such as Vodka), and not just wine or champagne? I didn’t know there was a way, even on board, to get a bottle of Vodka to your cabin.

Just purchase some"bubble wrap" from your post office, Wal-Mart, or Target if you do not have any. Then pack it in your "checked" luggage....No problem....

Nice picture, but I don't see any bubble wrap. Did they confiscate it at the dock?

I recently returned from Conquest & we bubble wrapped 3 or 4 bottles of liquor in both our carry ons and checked luggage...no problem whatsoever.

In how many instances have posters heard of people falling overboard? I don't see it publicized much, but with all those libations and the mystique that surrounds ingesting them it must happen more than rarely.
Can I expect to hear or see at least a few rowdy drunks amoung the people abord the Glory?

Liquor is easy to smuggle onboard if you really want to. I recommend getting the small (miniatures) plastic bottles from an inexpensive liquor store. I had a brown bag filled with the minis as well as mini bottles of wine. A martini this way is $2-4 depending on what brand you buy or $9 on board. I ended up bringing lots of my minis back with me as I didn't use them all. I wish beer was as easy to smuggle, it would save us a ton of money! A large bottle is easy to smuggle too, I was just nervous about it breaking and ruining my clothes, but the bubble wrap would help. Even if you do smuggle a bunch of liquor you will probably find that you just don't feel like heading to the room whenever you want a drink, sometimes it is just easier to buy wherever you are, especially if you are enjoying time in the piano bar or someplace like that. But I figured I saved about $100 by bringing my own and I still bought a bunch of liquor on board.

Public defender-- In my cruises I have not seen rowdy drunks onboard except one cruise--that was a cruise to nowhere on the Regal empress. It rained all weekend and this ship had no indoor activities planned for these people..soo o the only thing they could do is drink.
My cruise to nowhere on the Legend was very nice...and I expected that to be a booze cruise also but it wasnt.
For a person to fall overboard-- theyhave to climb on something to fall off. And yes people do get stupid and climb over balconies to get to another-- that is how some will fall over.

I know that smuggling liquor on board has been discussed on numerous threads. I believe the original post dealt with ordering hard liquor “legallyâ€Â. As far as I know, there is no way to order, either in advance, or on board, a bottle of vodka, bourbon, etc. to your room. Is this correct?

If you can't order vodka and want to bring it, buy and drink any clear colored soda/drink. Water, club soda, tonic water, etc. Save the bottle and fill with vodka. Same with any liquor you want to take on board. Just match the color to a color soda. As for beer....we have smuggled beer on each and every cruise. We are lucky that we live near the pier in NY and Bayonne and very rarely have to fly, so weight isn't a problem. I have a really good method of getting beer cans on board in your suitcase if anyone is interested. You can also buy 12 packs of soda, save the carton and smuggle the beer on in them.

Cruizer,
Thanks for the sites. I was surprised to see how many of the people who fall over, die. I guess the water can be pretty cold and you can fall from quite a height. Even the people who are rescued seem to be in the water for some time before they are fished out.
Not really worried about falling of. The biggest concern for our final week before Glory is how long the days will seem until we leave and if any of the Western ports will be more like rubble than paradise. Thanks again.
