Thinking about booking a cruise on Grand Princess in December, would like to know their policy on liquor.

You are allowed to bring wine and champane on board for in cabin consumptionin your carry on bag.Any thing else is not "allowed " but aparently the policy is enforced very sporadically, so you may be lucky. As far as whats in your luggage , seems that's not a problem, just make sure it's in non breakable containers.

There are two seperate camps on this whole issue. The" how could you cheat and break the rules, and are you cheap?" group, and then there's the " the booze is over priced, I'm saving more money for shore excursions and bingo, and I like a drink in my cabin without paying an arm and a leg group" .

Personally we like a Baileys on the balcony before dinner, and it's not even offered on the room service menu, so what are we to do??(wink wink)

On our 12-6-30 Golden Princess Cruise, I bought a liter bottle of Beefeater Gin at the Lobby Bar for $20, which is cheaper than I can purchase her in Akron, or in Fort Lauderdale. Since you can bring wine in your carry on, I bought a bottle of vermouth at Wynn-Dixie and a bottle of olives. I could have a martini any time I wanted to enjoy one on our balcony. Of course we bought drinks on board when we were too lazy to go back to the room.

If someone sticks their nose into you business such as the" how could you cheat and break the rules, and are you cheap?" group, let them pick up your tab.

We do the same as you. it's not worth the hassel to bring it on board when you can buy it on board. The GROUP can pick up my tab to.
