While I realize there are different flavors for everyone, mine just does not happen to be Carnival.  Don't get me wrong, there was a time in my life that I loved Carnival (later teens until early 20's).  I would basically only cruise Carnival (unless another line ran a great special).  At that time, it was my cup of tea.  Then, I got married, had a child & settled down.  Tried Celebrity once & got hooked.  I MEAN HOOKED!  In all my years of cruising, I had never had such a great experience on a ship (including HAL, RCL & others).  My biggest beef with Carnival is cutting corners everywhere they can.  Also, they constantly push stuff on you - buy this, buy that.  Typically, you can tell Carnival passengers in port by the way they act.  Before anyone shoots me, I was that way too and I am sure people looked at me and my friends the same way.  Since we have settled down, we prefer personalized service & (to a degree) pamperring.  Carnival is not the enemy, its just not for me.  It caters to a more funloving, partygoing group whereas Celebrity caters more to our style.  Recently, I even noticed RCL following Carnival in cost cutting and it upset me.  It made our decision to exclusively cruise Celebrity easier.  Different strokes for different folks.  I do not mean to step on anyones toes by voicing my opinion.
