We are planning a shore excursion and have been warned to check 'ship time' vs 'local island time'. Do Carnival ships have you change your watches as you change time zones?

I dont recall ever changing my watch. You better ask just in case, though.

My last Carnival cruise was on the Pride from Port Canaveral. Ship's time corresponded to local eastern daylight time. As we sailed west, ship's time remained the same, but by the time we got to Belize there was a 2 hour time difference. Just remember to leave your watch set on ship's time and get back at least an hour before scheduled sailing time.

Depends on the ship as it is up to the Captain as to whether or not to change ships time to correspond to local times.

It must depend on the ship as we've been on several that have had us change our watches back and forth.

If the excursion is through the cruise line you can wait until the last minute to check your Carnival Caper about the time but if you are booking the excursion on your own like we did in Cozumel you have to know what time it is there. You can e mail whoever you make an excursion through and tell them you are concerned about a possible time difference.
