The skies over coastal Massachusetts are darkening with lots of cloud cover overhead. The rain and wind haven't yet begun, and we are told they are a couple of hours away. Yet, it appears the fringes of this vast storm have made it to our area.

While we will be barely sideswiped (winds of just 40 mph expected), my thoughts and prayers are with those in areas that will be more greatly affected. I know we have members living in Nova Scotia and the most northeastern parts of the U.S. Please check in after the storm so that we know you are alright.

Southeast Mass is still not too bad as of 11am. Just a normal rain storm so far. The latest reports say it may pick up a bit and to expect more rain by mid afternoon. I canceled my 8am tee time for this? Could have still squeezed in 18!

Stay snuggled in and dry everyone. It sounds like you guys are in for some major rain and wind.

yeah, the rain has started up in northern Massachusetts. We battened down the hatches (cleared off the outside deck) in anticipation of the 40 MPH winds we're expecting.

Be safe out there cruise @ddicts and neighbors.

No rain in New York, but the wind is howling. When I go out later, I will probably go up like Mary Poppins.

It's very windy and rainy here out along the ocean. I expect it to be a wild afternoon.

This is actually pretty cool. Our north-facing windows are getting hit with rain, while our east-facing windows are completely dry! (That's a nor'easter for you!) It's amazing to watch the motion of the clouds...they are going by so quickly...it's almost like watching time-lapse photography! It's almost hard to believe that the center of the storm is many, many miles offshore.
