Losing my mind... Concierge better than butler??

I've been spending a little bit of time on the Celebrity web site, and I am beginning to think I may have made a mistake. When reading about Concierge class, they point out "table for two" on the veranda and "daily flowers." It almost seems better than a Sky Suite. Am I missing something here? Is it simply that a Sky Suite it a bit larger?

Thanks for the input!!

A Sky Suite is the best, but you have to pay for it. The room is bigger. The veranda is bigger. The furniture is more plentiful. It has a bathtub instead of just a shower stall. It comes with a butler. He brings the flowers, fresh friut every day, afternoon tea and cookies and horedevores in the evening. A bottle of bubley is in your stateroom when you first arrive along with a Celebrity tote bag. The attendants seem more polished.

A Celebrity suite is better than the Concierge class. The cabin is bigger and the butler service is more personal. The Concierge Class is very nice but...given the choice...I would opt for a suite.

Opt for the Suite - the Concierge perks are ok. I could slap myself when I let this opportunity pass me by......;(.

Although I haven't sailed in one, there's no question that the sky suite is larger and must be more comfortable than a CC class cabin. As far as CC amenities are concerned you do get flowers, fresh friut every day and horedevores in the evening. A bottle of bubley is in your stateroom when you first arrive along with a Celebrity tote bag. Additionally you get a large fold up Celebrity Tote bag. The flowers, which are placed in 2 or 3 locations (can't remember which) are changed frequently and kept fresh during the cruise.

All that being said, if it were an even exchange I'd probably opt for the sky suite... BUT (and a lot of people won't agree with this) I'd prefer privacy, and would rather not have the butler.

everything you get in a cc cabin you also get with a sky suite plus some other extras the main one bing the butler and your being able to order off the d/r menu even though you are eating in your cabin

Butler is better. Think of it this way. A concierge you have to ask for everything, a butler is already doing it.

What ship Jillian???
I have been looking at the century...and there is not a balcony.
I thought I was going crazy too...but...
its just a room with perks...no balcony
needless to say...I was very disappointed.

Summit

Thanks for the wonderful posts. We are looking at the 6 day Western Caribbean in January on the Summit. Of couse I assumed the Sky Suite would be better, but the Concierge class seem awesome as well. I grabbed cabin 6145. I can't wait for this trip!

We passed up the sky suite on the Infinity for the Family room... aft, corner, huge huge balcony... more sq. footage in the family room... private hallway that we can use for our luggage... vetter views for Alaska,....and separate room for the teen... the amenities would have been nice, but giving the teen the respect she deserves and the privacy she needs, PRICELESS...

Having sailed in both CC and a Sky Suite on the Century as well as the Summit I can say they are closly related. The butler is great if you need one. We found ourselves not really using the butler. He was so nice I could not see kyself rudely asking him to do things I could do just fine myself. On the Summit, the Sky Suites are located adjacent to the CC cabins and are a bit larger, onh the Century, the Sky Suites occupy a floor by themselves which is VERY nice! No lids running up and down the halls at all hours. On the Summit - CC, on the Century - Sky Suite! Just my opinion for what it is worth.

Be careful when booking sky suites on Millenium class ships, as the ones mid-ship on deck 6 have small balconies, an irritating overhang, and an unpreferable view of the top of a lifeboat.

Hi,

Just back from 2 weeks on the Millennium in the Med in a sky suite. We did not have any fresh flowers in suite. I asked the butler and was told we no longer get them! Are the balconies really smaller in SS on deck 6? Were in 6101 and it seemd the same as the others.

No Butler service - is this a change in Celebrity policy? How was this room - I have heard that the mid ship SkySuite 6000 rooms have obstructed views?

This is a basic question, from someone who has not been on a cruise before.....
We have booked a Sky Suite on deck 6, and I am wondering which ones are the mid ship cabins with the smaller balconies. In the brochure it looks like 6099, 6101, 6100, and 6102. Is that correct? We will be in 6125. Has anyone been in that cabin? We chose it over CC 8046, and like the first poster are wondering whether we made the right decision, considering that it was significantly more $.
Thanks.

Re Cabin 6101 Millenium, we are going on our first cruise next year to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and we have been allocated 6101. I have read conflicting reports on this cabin. What is it really like, are there better Sky suites on Millenium?

Hey Ger Welcome
I'm not too sure on your cabin but from looking at the deck plans in a brochure it sure seems smaller.
Although the small inset about SS cat says there is x sq feet etc and I would ask my TA or whomever you booked with to confirm you are getting what you paid for.

Other than that it seems to be a great spot in the ship. I haven't been on this one but it's easy to compare with the Infinity..

Hello Everyone,

This is my first post, I will try to do my best. We booked the Concierge class on the Summit in Dec out of San Pedro to Hawaii. We have sailed on the Infinity before and really liked that ship but have never sailed on the Summit. In my review search I read a review written by someone who cruised the same trip to Hawaii and was shocked in their description of the Summit. They said it wasn't clean and gave details that would make a person want to cancel the cruise immediately. They mentioned they pointed out something to one of the employees and their reply was it was not their job. They also had a injury while leaving the ship and the response given was with a lack of interest. There was more than one person giving such a review. I was very surprised to read that about Celebrity and wonder if it is low morale. I'm thinking of canceling the cruise but was looking forward to it. I apolgize for posting my first message with such negativity but would appreciate any info that would help in making our decision about this cruise. Thanks for any info.
