In the longest game in Coor's Field history the Rockies beat the Padres last night at Coor's Field to earn a wildcard spot in the playoffs. At the end of the 9th inning the game was tied 6-6. Then no runs in the 10th, 11th, and 12th innings.

In the top of the 13th the Padres scored 2 runs...The Rockies fought for their lives and came back to win with a forced sneak to home. Amazing comeback for the Rockies...their season was all over the place. They were hungry for this playoff spot.

It was a late night in Lo Do last night!

Hear about this - on our am radio - they said he slid into home FACE first - they said he actually missed home plate, but the didn't call it.

Congratulations!

The catcher kinda struggled to catch the ball he was on his face...........from the pics I saw it looked like he did eventually tag the base....before the catcher got ahold of the ball.

Another very bad call during the game in the early innings where a rockies home run was not properly ruled on, almost lost them the game. The ball went over the fence and into the stands, hit a wheel chair and bounced back onto the field. They did not call it a home run and it could have cost the Rockies the game.

A very entertaining game to watch. I didn't think that he touched home plate until seeing the spike marks on his hand.

Kinda made up for his fielding boner earlier didn't it??

The home plate umpire in that game last night is from Des Moines. He was also the ump for the infamous George Brett "pine tar incident." Talk about a lightening rod for controversy!
