Definitely, Haze... we'll set up something as it gets closer.

We just booked a morning tour to the Fortress of Louisbourg in Sydney. I was amazed at how simple, and flexible, it was to book excursions online. I had never done that before. :)

There doesn't seem to be much going on with this cruise on the boards, but wanted to introduce myself and travel buddy.

Kitty and I are both widows in early 60's and cruise together regularly (having met on a cruise about five years ago). Kitty is from Ohio and I'm from TX.

We have booked a tour in Halifax for six hours that will accommodate two others and would like to have you contact me if there is any interest in joining us and sharing expenses. This is Bob MacLintock's Tour by Taxi - www.tourbytaxi.com . The tour we've booked is the six hour Peggy's Cove, St Margaret's Bay, Northwest Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg.

After you've had a chance to look at the tour, if you have any interest in joining us, please let me know. It seems to cover a lot more area than any tour the ship has to offer.

Canada, here we come!

We are on the 8/28 sailing. Hopefully, there will be more activity on the roll calls on the boards as the time draws closer.

We are looking forward to the itinerary. You sound as if you must be an expert on the itinerary by now, so any must see or do's that you might recommend would be welcome. I have travelled some of Western Canada, but this is my first time to get beyond Boston on the east coast. And In August, I'll, certainly be ready to escape the Texas heat!

Let's touch base closer to the cruise and make arrangements to meet.

Hi Teresa,

Unfortunately, we're not on the same sailing, but we can :wave to each other in Boston.

We're from the Boston area and, like Haze, we have done this itinerary before (although two ports will be new to us) -- happy to answer any questions.

Hello Teejay,
closer to the date, we will arrange to meet. That would be great. what areas is your tour reccommending or visiting? Peggy's Cove is lovely and i would highly reccomend it.
We have actually driven there a few times. It is a beautiful trip out there from Halifax.
Part of the trip goe right along the ocean front and the village is delightful. There is also a very moving memorial to the Swiss air disaster. It is really worth visiting.
If you have never been to Quebec City, it will absolutely astound you . We love Quebec City. It is North America's only walled city (like the walled cities in England and Europe)
It is steeped in history. You can take a tour or walk around it yourselves. It is on two levels and you travel to the upper level via a cable car. You will love it there.
In Prince Edward Island, I haven't checked the tours but there is usually one to Anne of Green Gables and I would also reccommend that trip. I should have checked out the pturs before I posted here but I didn't.
the ship sruises up the Sagenay River before it goes to Quebec City. The whaoles actually come right up beside the ship. It is great.
I think you can tell how much we love theis cruise by my ecitememnt. My husband and I are really looking forward to both of the cruises and decided to do the return one on the 28th as well as the in bound one to Boston. We also like Boston and the Faneuil Market area a lot. I love Bar Horabour also.
ther is not very much to do in Syney Nova Scotia so if you have chance for a tour out of there it is probablyua good idea.
the waterfront area at Halifax is really nice and there is a great area for walking.
Well , I will have to contain my excitement as there is still two months until the cruise.
Hope this has been helpful.

Regarding 8/28 Maasdam tours:

As mentioned in an earlier post, Kitty and are looking for someone to share our tour in Halifax. Or, if someone else has one booked (for Peggy's Cove and Lunenberg, etc) and has seats to fill, please let me know.

We would also like to do a private tour in Sydney of Cabot Cove. If anyone has a private tour booked and has seats to fill, let us know. Or,we have located a tour, but have not booked it so if anyone would like to join us on that, we can book it that way.

Haze, thanks for all your input on must sees and dos for this itinerary. It really reconfirmed what we hoping to experience.

Thanks
Teresa
