Maasdam Itinerary changes....

HAL has changed Maasdam's 2004 schedule. She will be doing many ten and eleven day cruises roundtrip Norfolk, Virginia. They are Southern itinerary routes and offer another alternative to having to fly to FLL or Miami.

We booked an eleven dayer and think this is a great alternative that enables even more people more choices for embarkation port.

These new itineraries are now posted on the HAL site.

I hear there are also changes in Volendam's schedule.

It looks nice, and we have always liked Barbados, about the only thing I would have changed is the stop at HMC, I have always like to relax there at the end of the cruise.
Are you still going on the Zuiderdam, or is this your change of plans?

Yes, Barry, we are still going on the Zuiderdam b-to-b's in August.

We shall be sure to enjoy ourselves and will be very adept at avoiding folks who we feel we would like to avoid :)

I'm quite excited about this Norfolk repositioning. We have never visited that area throughout all of our travels, and I know my husband will greatly enjoy a tour of the Naval Base and the MacArthur Museum etc Viginia Beach should be nice to visit.

Sounds like a nice place for an extended pre/post cruise stay.

We never put our deposit on the Maasdam itinerary. When I learned we would have to fly American Eagle to Norfolk, I said....Nope, not going. I refuse to get on one of those little planes. That was the only non-stop.

We booked (and deposited :)) for Rotterdam 10 days, Southern Caribbean and Panama Canal for next Spring instead.

I see that HAL has a nice cruise from San Francisco to Boston leaving on September 10th and getting to Boston on October 2. It is on the Prinsendam and if I remember right this is the only HAL ship that you have not sailed on, if you are thinking about it there is a Promo# 76 which might save you a dollar or two.
I know that you said you are doing back to backs in August, but this looks like a nice cruise, and we just can't go ourselfs, because we will be in Alaska on the Amsterdam.

Thanks, Barry. I saw that cruise and it sounds wonderful. We'll be back too short a time from ZUDM to be possible for my husband to leave his office. Prinsendam does not really appeal to us either. If it were one of the other ships, I think we might have booked that cruise and rearranged our sail dates on ZUDM to accomodate that schedule.

Thanks for pointing it out.....wish it were a different ship.
