RAS,
Glad the Mrs. is better and that you will be going. One of our party of 4 called this evening when I was out asking about the trip cancellation, so I am afraid she won't be joining us. See you Wed. if not sooner.

The captain announced today that we are due in about 11am on Mar 2, and debarkation starts an hour later, with groups leaving every five minutes for two hours. In other words, debarking until about 2:30pm The first passengers, those in suites, will not be boarding till about 3pm. No need to arrive earlier than that. Weather was not the cause. The ship is just too slow to make the distance from St Thomas to Norfolk in the time allotted. (aboard for the Feb 21-Mar 2 sailing.)

I watched her berth at just before 11 AM, John.

Great that the Norfolk weather has been cooperative for the past 3 sailings.

If you saved your "Cruise Log", could you tell me what the "Official Time" was when you departed berth on 2/21 ?

On Feb 21 we left at 8pm. That was the latest ever. They didn't get in that day till 1pm. We arrived at the terminal at 3:30 and were given number 34 for embarkation. We didn't get called until about 6:45pm, and were aboard about 7:15pm in the last bunch. However if we had arrived at the pier at noon, like some, we would have still have had to wait about 5 hours. It was nice having a free tour of Nauticus. There is always some kind of weather enroute back from St. Thomas to Norfolk, this time it was a 1,000mile wide band of weather that had us plowing through waves all kday Sunday from the time we were off Cuba. The last day out, off the Carolina's was glassy smooth. And warm enough to sit in the sun. Review coming later this week.
